New ArDM-1ton Update

The ArDM experiment has a new preprint out of the arXiv detailing progress in building a ton-scale detector. ArDM is a liquid argon TPC dark matter experiment hoping to use pulse shape discrimination in argon events to separate nuclear recoils (possible signal events) from electrons (background). They don’t really report physics results, but show that they have filled their detector with 2 tons of liquid argon and can take some calibrations. They are also able to clearly show the effect of a pulse shape parameter on their background events, which should be well separated from the signal (it looks like this works down to a few tens of keV maybe but it’s hard to tell).
